Charities

The Milton Keynes Masked Ball is such a spectacular event that it is easy to lose sight of its purpose, and that is to raise lots of money for children’s cancer charities. Currently the beneficiaries are CLIC Sargent and Joe’s Fund.

CLIC Sargent

Caring for children and young people with cancer and their families – in hospital and in the community. CLIC Sargent has 350 full and part time staff. In addition to this, there are 60 funded or part funded (50%) NHS posts. There are also 60 social worker posts sub-contracted to local authorities. With these services and staff CLIC Sargent can support the children, young people and families affected by cancer every step of the way. Visit www.clicsargent.org.uk to find out more.

Joe’s Fund

Joe’s Fund was set up by friends of Joe Jeavons-Golding, a local teenager who is suffering from leukaemia. Joe is now in his third year of treatment and is responding well. The fund has enabled Joe to live as normal a life as possible during his three years of intensive treatment and will also act as a safety net should further, alternative treatments be required.
